Fabrication of Offshore DNV Container 2.7-1OIL & GAS
The fabrication of offshore container frames required the adherence to a strict Quality Assurance & Quality Control methodology which involves the following:
1. Development of drawings in accordance with the DNV Code 2.7-1;
2. Submission of the drawings to DNV for approval;
3. Fabrication of the frame in accordance with the requirements of the DNV
Code and under the close Surveillance of a DNV Appointed Surveyor;
Stage 3, fabrication, required the application of a very strict Quality Inspection & Test Plan. Full material and welding traceability was maintained and all welding had to be done by DNV Certified Welders.
Finally, a full dossier was developed and submitted to DNV for verification and approval.
The high quality standards followed and achieved throughout this fabrication, demonstrate Multimarine's ability to deliver complex fabrications under the strict requirements of the Offshore Industry and of the Classification Societies without any difficulties. Pavlos Phokas, Operations Manager, comments: "The offshore Oil & Gas Industry is highly regulated and requires all portable units to be classified by DNV and hold a unique identification number under the DNV Database. With the Cyprus offshore Oil & Gas Industry expanding, this is an area we expect to grow rapidly in the future and Multimarine Services Ltd currently is the only company in the Eastern Mediterranean region which holds approval from DNV for the fabrication of such frames.”
